Born 14 Aug 1739 Bristol Parish in Prince George Co, VA and died 18 Aug 1823 Hancock Co GA.

Newspaper, Mount Zion Missionary, 1 Sep 1823, said Capt. James Reese, Sr. , native of Virginia, member of Methodist Church 50 years, died."James Rees, Sr. was a Capt. Art. in Am.Rev.
Born a1739, he came from Dinwiddie Co. VA, which was formed 1752 from Prince George Co.
Obit: "Capt. James Rees died July 18, 1823, age 84, in Hancock Co., Georgia---once of Camden Dist. S.C." Married Nancy Holloway and/or Margaret (Nancy ?) Lewis. Children: Joel (Am.Rev.) a1760-aNov1812 Putnam Co., GA , James, Jr. b1760-70, David d 1820-30 Hancock Co., GA,

Hudson - I noted your post some time ago relating to James Rees, Revolutionary War Soldier. I descended back to James through his son William Rees and wife Amelia Eleanor Beall. I am a member of the DAR and I have been working on James Rees as a supplemental patriot/ancestor. I have yet to find his military papers/documents and I will be the first to prove James Rees in the DAR patriot list so I hope you can help guide me.
