Hello,
I'm looking for William Douglass b- 1720 in Charles County, Maryland. He died in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, 1786. He was married to a Rachael in 1746 and had a family of 7. He was a Captain in The French And Indian War (1776).
I am asking for any information regarding my relative. I am trying to find who his parents were and where they were from. I have all info after him up to present day.

The DAR and SAR applications concern proving service of the Patriot, and genealogical evidence as to descendants down to the applicant. They do not ask for or require any information about ancestors of the Patriot. Lookup volunteers on the DAR board do not have access to any ancestral data on Patriots.

Research in local records where your Patriot lived may turn up estate, land, church or other records indicating parentage.

Queries as to ancestry of a Patriot would be better placed on a message board for the surname or for the locality in which he lived.
