Further to the previous message, I have received a bit more information from the enquirer which might assist:
I have looked up in my file the Baptism of Thomas (1)to Robert & Elizabeth (Rotherham All Saints 1808) again, just to double check and it confirms that this Thomas was Baptised November 20th.1808 and that he was born to Robert &
Elizabeth Dawson of Bradgate Born October 24th. .Ref: PR 87/9
I also have a copy for a Greasborough Baptism which states: June 19th.for Thomas,(2) Son of George & Hannah Dawson. - no birth date, but this would make Thomas (1) around 11yrs & 8mnths whereas Thomas (2) would have been 12 & 2mnths.
It was Mr.Bye (from Rotherham FHS) who kindly let me know in 2009 that the NBI gave the death of a Robert Dawson aged 12yrs who was buried at Greasborough 4th.August 1820.
As I said before, I could so eaily say it was George & Hannah's Thomas who died but the ages are so close that I don't want to risk being wrong. Also there is the Greaseborough connection but even so its not conclusive.
I have researched both Roberts & Georges family to get to this point but still find it difficult to make the jump.
Fingers crossed . . .
