MEADOW VIEW, WATH UPON DEARNE

MEADOW VIEW, WATH UPON DEARNE

I'm Members Interest Co-ordinator at Rotherham Family History Society and we have received an enquiry to see if we have a photograph and/or know the whereabouts of Meadow View at Wath upon Dearne. The enquirer stated -

"I know it is no longer in existence but it is where my grandmother used to live at 14 Meadow View and this is where she had her first son in 1911."

Can anyone help please?

hi Hilary, did you ever get a response to this? Reason I ask is that I only discovered today that mt grandad lived at 14 Meadowview from 1930 to 1938 and I am just about to find out where it was in relation to Midland Terrace

Hi Brian - I did find out but not from here - I contacted Wath Local History Group and they located it for me. I'll try to find the reply and get back to you but meanwhile if my memory serves me correctly it was off Doncaster Road on the way to Manvers.

Hi, thanks anyway, but I now have the answer, Meadowview joined Midland Terrace, on the Bolton Road near North station. There is a long discussion about it now on the 'I grew up in Wath on Dearne' Facebook page which you might find useful for other research.
The residents at no 14 in 1911 were Buckley, then 1932-38 Otter, ny grandparents
regards Brian.
