Im hoping to find descendants of William Smith b 1796 Wentworth and Elizabeth Foulston b 1801 baptised Wombwell
They had six children The fourth being my 2x Great Grandfather James Larrett Smith.He went to Dartmoor to work as a prison warder, There he married Sarah Staples in 1859, but the marriage was very short lived because by 1861 he was a widdower and married Christiana Hepinstall, back in Hepworth. The census shows the newly weds living in Brodsworth, James as a gamekeeper.( Brodsworth Hall?)
William was a blacksmith in 1834 at the baptism of James,and was still a blacksmith on 1861 census. Living at Hazlenut Cottage Wentworth, Can any one give me any information on my Smiths? There seems to be two completely unrelated families in Wentworth, Does mine ring any bells with any one ? Im Hoping !!!! Sandra Pounder
