Horace Redvers Allen b 08/08/1900 & Colin Allen b 10/11/1908 sons of John Thomas Allen & Sarah Ann Allen/nee Hardy, at the time of their births they were at Harper Street Rotherham. These 2 chaps were my grandads brothers but apart from their baptism records I have no info on them at all, though possibly Horace may have married a Dorothy Windle in Roth 1927. Any info on them would be welcome. Regards Peter.

Re: Horace and Colin Allen
Thanks for the reply, I had forgotten about this post. Still not managed to find any descendants of Horace or Colin Allen. I notice you have Cyril, son of John Thomas & Sarah Allen as being born 1918, he was born 1898. Horace Redvers and Colin are his siblings. You have got Cyril & Elsie's children correct except for one, that is the Cyril (my father) who was born 1918, so as you can see there are two Cyril's. Could I ask if you are related to us Allens.

Re: Horace and Colin Allen
Thanks for ther Horace and Colin info. Think I must be going senile, it's be some time since I viewed that part of my tree so when I went to enter their wifes and children onto the tree they were already on it, cannot recall where the info came from. As you say that you have found myself and my siblings (but there are not 9) on Genes Reunited I would presume that you would be one of my contacts but under a different name than your Ancestry one, as I though only personal contacts could view other trees. Thanks again Peter.

Re: Horace and Colin Allen
Thanks again for the info on Horace Redvers & Dorothy Allen. I managed to find the grave and was very suprised to find the insciption Horace Redvers Buller. At birth he was registered as Horace R Allen and also at his marriage to Dorothy he was Horace R Allen but come his death he seems to have got another name.

Re: Horace and Colin Allen
horace r allen is how he is registered on ancestry ,aged 8mnths there is also a cyril aged 2 on that census.I was told by Dorothy years ago, that he was named after Henry Redvers Buller a captain in the army who was awarded the victoria cross in the Africa Campaigne in 1879.The only explanation i can come up with ,is that he adopted the Buller himself in later years, but he certainly is not registered as Buller as you say, hope this clears it up for you,its a puzzle.
