Surnames: Webb, Kirk, Gordon
Attention: the Individual who contributed to the Ancestry.com Online Family Tree, “Winters-Webb-Hawley-Bishop. Would you please let me know the SOURCE of the name of the spouse of Carl Webb, whom you believe was Imogene Webb. I am looking for a Carl Webb, whose birth, and death date are not known to me. In the Social Security Death Index there are three listed who may or may not be he. The one I'm looking for married, 1936-1941, probably in Cleveland, Ohio, Imogene N. Kirk, born 22 October 1917 in Illinois, died 11 January 1998 in North Ridgeville; Ohio (last known residence); daughter of Everett "Evert" H. Kirk, and Cora Mae/May Gordon. Carl and Imogene lived, in the 1950s, at 3628 West 129th St, in Cleveland, Ohio. In the 1980s they were living at 4546 Selhurst, N. Olmstead, Ohio, which is just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. They had an adopted son, Gary Webb. We visited my Aunt Cora in the late 1930's or early 1940s in Cleveland; at that time Carl and Imogene Kirk were dating. They married shortly thereafter. They adopted a male child before June of 1945, when I had graduated from High School, and my brother and I visited with them in Cleveland. Imogene's mother was Cora Mae Gordon Kirk, nee Gordon, the half-sister of my mother, Hazel Myrtle Jordan Hill, nee Jordan. I sent an e-mail to Luther Winters of the above Family Tree, and received the following e-mail:

"I am no help for you. The data on Carl and family was contributed by someone on the net."

The source is very important; this may be a different Imogene. I am hoping that the individual who contributed to the above Family Tree, or someone, will be able to fill in the blanks. Catherine Hill
