I have a great deal of information to share regarding the descendants of Dielman Kolb--over 500 pages. If you are interested or have connections and corrections to this family, I would be very interested

There is a Diehlman Kolb 1648-1713 on the Kidron database at http://www.omii.org - on the Kidron database. I'd be interested in communicating with you if this person is your person John Steiner, OMII Coordinator

Hello - I am descended from Eli Berkey, son of Jacob K. Berkey, son of Jacob Berkey, whose mother was Gertrude Kolb, whose father was Dielman Kolb. DoB for Jacob is Oct 8, 1793 in Lawrence, PA (have been unable to locate which Lawrence). This information comes to me through the Koppes family history book (I only have some photocopied pages). Is this of interest to you? The Berkey's in my family are not, as far as I can tell, descended from Leonard and Mary Burgi from Swiss canton as listed on LDS site. Incidentally, Jacob m. Mary Koppes.

yes, I am very interested in your Kolb connection. I am compiling as many connections as I can find and yours is apparently one I hadn't heard of yet. I would love the specific dates, places etc if you could email them to me. I have 5 Dielman Kolbs in my file so I need some dates etc to figure out which one your line fits with. Thanks Paulette

Hi - I'd be happy to share what I have, but after I posted the note I realized I have made a couple errors. First, after I checked my info I realized that Deilman would have been to old to be Gertrude's father. Second, the information did not come from the Koppes family book, as I stated. It came from the Kulp family history, which I must have got on line a few years ago (I take better notes now). I started my search for information on Christan Berkey (1758-1828) so my information on Deilman is related to his daughter, Gertrude who is married to Christian. Here's the info & sources I have: (a) I note that Gertrude Ziegler Kolb is listed on p. 162 of the Kulp Family History.(b) There is a Deilman Kolb m. to a Gertrude Schumakher on the Bucks Co. (PA) 1760 census. (c) Christian Berkey and Gertrude Kolb show up on the 1780 census in Lehigh Co. (d) My notes seem quite certain about a Dielman Kolb m. to an Agnes Schumacher, with daughter Gertrude Kolb (Culp) of that time. Hope you can make something of this mess - I have a few more notes if you need clarification. I'm very sorry - I remembered the Koppes information when I read the posting. However, I can tell you about the descendants!

Dielman and Agnes did have a daughter named Gertrude but she would be too old for your Gertrude. Gertrude Schumacher is Agnes' sister. Dielman and Agnes also had a son named Dielman. I suppose it is possible that their son married his aunt Gertrude. (not likely). There are many, many other Dielman Kolbs. I would be glad to share the possibilities with you but I'd rather do it by email. gabgolly@aol.com. Thanks Paulette from NM

Whoops. Now it is my turn to make a mistake. Dielman and Agnes did not have a daughter named Gertrude as far as I know. I do have a Gertrude born to Henry Kolb and Susan Culp in 1854. Is that too late? I don't know Henry's heritage. Susan is from Dielman and Agnes' lineage.

I am pretty sure there is some kind of connection but I need some dates on Simeon and do you know who his parents were or where they were from?
