I saw your post and see that it isn't recent. I'm descended from Thomas Jefferson Motes, son of John T Motes
and Nancy Smith. Most people say that Joseph Motes and
Desiree D'Orsey are the parents of John T but I've never
found documentation to verify this. I have all that information but can't make the Connection. I have documentation the children of John T and Nancy except for
William (Billy). Be glad to share what I have and wonder
if you have anything on him except the 1870 and 1880 census.
