The James Porter in the 1850 Census in Pease Twp. Belmont Co., Oh is not the same one you are looking for.
This James Porter was born about 1804 somewhere in Ohio. He died on 23 February 1870 in Bridgeport, Belmont Co., Ohio. He was married to Sarah Jane (nee Porter) Porter on 13 December 1837 in Belmont Co., Ohio. She was born on 19 June 1809 in Maryland. And she died in her son-in-laws home (William Ryan) in Aetna Ville, Belmont Co., Ohio.
Note: Aeta Ville is between Bridgeport and Martins Ferry, Ohio.
