Family legend has it that we are related to the Thomas and Joseph Rogers of the Mayflower. We are only able to document one generation before the Rev War and then just dead ends. Any suggestions I am a rookie picking up where my mom left off. TIA Karen

The Mayflower Society has published a five-generation book of the
descendants of Thomas Rogers which you may be able to get at your
local library, or you can buy it from the Mayflower Society on their
website at www.mayflower.org. If you still can't connect your
generations together, try the books of Mayflower records by Susan
Roser and "The Mayflower Descendant," the journal of the Mass.
Mayflower Society. You can also join the Mayflower email list on
Rootsweb. If you need more info, I'd be glad to help.

Re: Sarah Lester m. Joseph Woodmancy, etc., forward to the Mayflower List

According the Brewster "MFIP," Sarah was the daughter of Andrew Lester, by
his FIRST wife (only the surname of Clarke is give, so her first name is
apparently unknown) and therefore, she/Sarah is NOT a Brewster descendant.
The Lester children shown as Brewster descendants are: Jonathan, Samuel and
Hannah, first 2 bapt. in New London, 3rd bapt. in Stonington.

Can you give me any clues as to where to look for info on the Brewster family - maybe related to the Mayflower Brewsters? My husband's great-grandparents were Charlie Albert Brewster and Amandy Jane Cochran from Tennessee. Their daughter was Carrie Cordelia Brewster, born in Brewstertown. My mother-in-law said they were descended from the Mayflower, but I would like to document it. Thanks!

You need to start with what you know, add dates and places to your queries and attempt to track a few more generations back. There are so many descendants, it's almost impossible to trace from Elder William Brewster forward, without knowing which of his children you descend.
Search the Brewster board here and then post queries there too.

In doing genealogy on my Eddy family, there is a Samuel Eddy (my 10th g-grandfather) who married Elizabeth Savory. It is stated (but not proven by me) that Elizabeth could be the daughter of Thomas Rogers, Mayflower passenger. Can anyone set me straight on this? Samuel was bn 16087 and d 1687. Thanks,

HI- I am from N.York state & was recently able to trace myself to Thomas Rogers, as a Direct Descendant. My lines to him are Mack,Ide, Sheldon, Rogers. I did it on Ancestry.com. I recently joined the Mayflower Society under W. Bradford. On Ancestry, I also found by tracing back to Mayflower times, around 1620 & earlier, that i have 2 more direct Line mayflower Passengers-Stephen Hopkins & his wife Constance. To join Mayflower, i was lucky enough to have "the Descendants of Peter Mills" book, which cost me $155.00. I had to pay a genealogist $500.00 to do the documntation, but she has told me she will do anyone's for same price. But you've got to have a line for her to start from.Start working from all your lines, back to at least 1600 Holland or England, even if you're just picking up hints from other trees. You may be surprised what you find! i certainly was amazed! You can contact me. If you are on Ancestry, i can head you to my Tree where Thomas Rogers is.Kristina mack
