In Vital Death records it gives a name, and then it has (Rec. after chn. of Isaac).
What does that mean?
Thanks

Recorded after children of Isaac.

I presume that you are speaking of one of the Tan Books - the abstracted and alphabetized records volumes. Because they are not transcribed records all of the context is lost and some contextual notes are added in parentheses. Because of that lack of context transcribed records such as those published in Mayflower Descendant are always preferrable to the abstracts in the Tan Books. Even better, though more difficult to use, are the images of the town records at FamilySearch.org.
