With respect,kind sirs,in regards to my great grandfather(Fredrick K.Wissing)& his dedicated history,at Daylsford&Port Arlington.Being Mayor of Daylsford.Arrived Victoria 1854.Spent his early days in Ballarat,engaged mining there,and afterwards settled in Daylsford.Where he followed mining and subsequently was engaged in hotel keeping,and took a contract of 4.5 mile of railway on the Daylsford-Woodend railway line during its construction.He had a corn store in Raglan st for many years and was successful in that and many other busineses.He was a one time member of thee Borough Council,and mining boardand tooka warm and active interest in public affairs.Fred had 7 sons and 5 daughters.G/grandad was buried 10th Feb.1905 in Daylsford cemetry.Bieng his proud and well travelled,learned G/grandson,I would deeply appreciate any follow up info that you have available,that I may immerse myself in.His close associates were as follows,Messers H.Wood,J. Bodinnar,G.Cox,F7C Mathieson.I would like to imagine many relatives still reside in Daylsford.Maybe even be invovled actively [n masonary as was Fred.!
