My father told me that he was born, in 1880, in Boslov -- now Ukraine-- then part of Russia. It is (or was) a small town about 25 - 30 kilometers north of Tulchin--which was a larger city. Is there any connection with the Boslover Beneficial Association, or does Boslover refer to some other city in Europe?

My step grandfather was from the Ukraine he earned a law degree from Vilnius and opened a law office in Munich. Zorach Chaimovic Neviazskij survived Auschwitz. Emigrated to the United States. Worked for the Boslover Ahavas Achim Belzer Association.
Maybe the name Boslover was from this region?

Boslov is the town in boslover asso.
Only the Jews call this town Boslov.
On most maps it is called Boguslav.
I have seen it labeled Boslov on Yiddish maps.
See my boslov mailing list on yahoo.

Just noticed your recent post, and since I see you have a Philly-area phone number, I am replying because just yesterday I finally found the Philly grave of my great-grandfather in burial site affiliated with Ahaves Achim Boslover assn. I paln to call Carl Goldstein whose 215 number is listed with Montefiore cemetery as the contact for this assn. But before I do, I wonder if you know anything about this or other Boslover-linked organizations that might still have records through which I can dcover more about my g/g/father and his contemporaries, especially since I thought this ancestor came from Rovno, had made a major name-change, and died long ago--1929. Thanks so much for your assistance!

Sorry for joining this conversation so late. My paternal grandfather was once president of the Philadelphia branch of the Boslover Assoc. I know that because we have the portrait of him taken as president around 1944. His name was Hyman (Chaim) Green. He died in 1952 as I recall. I do not remember any of his Boslover associates but I do recall their headquarters in down town Philly. That is where I first saw his portrait hanging on the wall. Would love more info if anyone has. MG

My husband's great grandfather was a President of the Boslover Beneficial Ass. We have a formal portrait of him stsing as such but there is no date. It was probably in the 1920's or teens.
His name was Loius Geiger. Do you still have any imformation about the association? We have lots of questions.

I too have a great-grandfather who was a former executive secretary and past president of the Boslover Ahavas Achim Belzer Association in Philly. His name was Bernard Artzt. He was born in 1882 and died in 1955. I'm not sure when he was president, however. I find it strange, because it was a society for immigrants from Bogulav or Belz and to my knowledge, he was from Dobromil, in the same district as Belz (Lvov). Unless there is something I don't know...
