I used to live in Savannah and went back for a visit a few years ago. While there my husband and I went to the GHS, but it wasn't much help. It appears they have the record of his death (he drowned himself in the Savannah river) and that there was an inquest. Apparently they did an inquest with all suicides. Unfortunately the book with the information on the inquest is missing. I also looked through the newspapers for an obituary but wasn't able to find one. It could be there and I just missed it. There are a lot of things on each page and it would be easy to miss when going through years.
