Hi Graham,
You seem to have a lot of information about the family of Sir John A. and perhaps you might be able to help me with my query.

My name is Louise Bongers, nee Paynter. My paternal Grandmother's maiden name was Eva May Cumming. It was always said that she was a cousin of Sir John although we never knew the exact connection.

Her Great Grandfather was Hugh Gordon Cumming (1809 - 1889) a native of Lock Eil, Fassefern House (apparently the house in which Bonnie Prince Charlie took refuge during the Jacobian situation in Scotland) not far from Inverness. It is from this person, I suspect, that the connection lies. I don't know for certain who his parents were although Gordon Cumming is the best guess for his father. His mother is unknown.

Please....any help, tips would be great.

Many thanks
Louise
