Looking for anyone that has these names from the Isle of Skye. Dates are from 1796-1862 in the locations of Portree, Culnaknock and Kilmuir. The McKenzies left Skye with the Stewarts in 1862 for Prince Edward Island. A couple of the McKenzie sons went to Austrailia.

Hi Graeme, Thanks for responding to my query....yes I would be interested in your dates, however I don't have your names in my McLeods list....but that doesn't mean anything! I have nearly nothing on the McLeods, so I'm just getting started. Seems there are so many McLeods, McKenzies, Stewarts on Skye that it's hard to sort them out. Any help with researching on Skye would be greatly appreciated. I'm totally out of my box when looking for family in the UK. Contact me directly if you like.

Hi - my great great grandfather was Alexander McKenzie, born on the Isle of Skye, about 1803. Married Ann McLean and travelled with some other McKenzies on the William Nicol bounty ship (1837) to Australia. If you want to know more please let me know - or if you have any other details that would be great.

I have Stewart ancestors that emigrated to Australia from Skye. The records I have found have Portree and Kilmuir as birth place although I believe they came from Hunglatter. The names are Angus Stewart, Catherine Stewart, Margaret Stewart, Alexander Stewart, Annie Stewart and John Stewart. I believe they came to Australia on the Priscilla in 1853. The mother of most of these Stewarts was Euphemia Catherine Macleod who was married to Angus Stewart above.

Hiya
I too am looking for further information on the McKenzie Family line in Skye. Mary McKenzie was born circa 1845 (I believe Portree) to John McKenzie and Mary McConville. Mary arrived in Australia but I am not sure with whom, when (or under what circumstances). She married Dominico Del Marco from Italy in 1871. They settled in the goldfields in and around Bendigo. Dominico mined and had a liquor licence. Mary died in 1924 in Victoria Australia.
Any help or connection would be appreciated.
