Need information on Bella Puffer
I am looking for information on Arvilla (Bella) nee Puffer who was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. I have a photo (Masonic) taken @ 1920 in Coldwater Mi. I do not know her married name, or if in fact she married. All of the women of her family were members of the Order of the Eastern Star. Bella was b. 1848 in Sherman Twp. Huron Co., Ohio to Charlotte Gilbert Puffer and Cady Puffer. In 1850 she appears in the Huron Co. census and in 1860 census in Williams Co. with her mother (Charlotte Puffet) and brother Geo and sister Julia. I can find no later record for her.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sharon

Re: Need information on Bella Puffer
Dave,
Thank you for your response. However, since my original post of May 2007, I have discovered much info on my Great Great Aunt Arabella.
Arabella did not die on the 18th of Nov 1914 in Ashtabula, Ohio. Arabella Puffer Swift died on the 30th of Oct 1932 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her obituary can be found in the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette p. 3 on the 31st of Oct 1932.
Arabella's husband, Lorenzo Swift enlisted 1 Jul 1863 in the 8th Ohio Regiment and was discharged as Sergeant on the 5th of April 1865. Arabella and Lorenzo had only one child, Cady Swift (named for Arabella's father) who was born 17 Sep 1869 and died in Ft. Wayne 21 Feb 1911 (I have a picture of Cady Swift taken when he was 8). Shortly before Cady Swift died, Arabella moved from Pulaski to Fort Wayne and was living there in 1920. In the 1930 census she was widowed and living in Fort Wayne. Living with her was my grandfather, Cady Puffer, age 30. Cady and my grandmother, Irene Mork, were married 6 months later. My grandparents settled in Fort Wayne and were close to Arabella - or Aunt Bella as they called her. Aunt Bella was the sister of George Puffer - my grandfather's father.
But thank you for your response Dave - it is good to know that someone else is interested in this line! I posted this on this message board so that anyone else (if there is anyone!) who might be interested in this line will have the info.

Re: Need information on Bella Puffer
Sharon,
Thanks for the information. With all the time that has lapsed since your first post I'm not surprised you have the info already. I am a little confused about the death dates of Arabella though. The discrepancy is almost 20 years. I'll have to research my info. Thanks again for the update Dave

Re: Need information on Bella Puffer
Dave,
Her death date of 1932 is actually listed on Ancestry, and I know from conversations with my grandmother that she was alive when my grandparents married in 1920 because she was a witness to their marriage. Also, as per my grandmother and the 1920 census, my grandfather Cady Puffer was living with Arabella in Fort Wayne in 1920 just before his marriage and after his discharge from the army. So she can not be the Arabella that who in 1914 in Ashtabula.
