Unfortunately, I found no Malachi named Gates in our Patriot Index. There was a Makepiece and Micah and a whole lot of others named Gates but not yours.

All this means is that no woman to date has joined DAR using Malachi as her patriot ancestor. If you should have documentation that proves Malachi served in the Revolutionary War, you would be eligible to join DAR using him as your ancestor.
