Record Comments
1) SERVICE BELONGS TO JACOB KEYSER 1756-1834 PENSION W7952 DH/HFK 5-24-91
This means that someone joined the DAR using Jacob b 1758 as her ancestor but since then it has been found the service claimed actually belonged to a different Jacob who was b in 1756.
If you would like a copy of the application with information on Jacob b 1758 you can send the above information and a $10 check made out to Treasurer General NSDAR and mail them to:
Library Copy Services
DAR Headquarters
1776 D Street, NW
Washington, DC 20006-5303
It may take 6-8 weeks to revceive the copy as they are a very busy office.
The correction shows a pension W7952. This means his widow received a pension. This would provide you with some information on the Jacob b 1756. To get a copy of the pension visit a regional National Archives office or visit their web site at
www.nara.gov to find out how to order a copy via US mail.
If you are interested in membership in the DAR you can e-mail me at
TRY925@aol.com and I can have your local chapter contact you.
If neither one is your ancestor it does not mean your ancestor did not serve, it only means no one has joined the DAR using his service as proof she could join.
If we can answer any other questions regarding Jacob, or look up anyone else let us know!
Sincerely
Gail Terry
