I've tried the Chancellor name again and even tried every man named David with wife named Margaret - there were 116, btw, and none with a surname beginning Chan.... It appears that no one has joined DAR using your David as her patriot ancestor. It sounds like you have a very good start on documentation if you know the company and discharge date. Do let me know if you need a contact made with a DAR chapter local to you.
