Good Morning!
Yes, someone has entered DAR using Daniel as her patriot ancestor. This is what we have:
BARTLETT , Daniel
Birth: MA 19 Aug 1754
Rank: Pvt
Service: MA
Death: MA 12 Mar 1843
Patriot Pensioned: Yes
Widow Pensioned: No
Children Pensioned: No
Heirs Pensioned: No
Spouse: (1) Elizabeth Smith
Spouse: (2) Deborah Fergerson
There are several steps you can take next. First thing would be to order what we call record copy. This will be one copy of one application one woman used to join. There may be more than one woman who joined on this man. To order a copy of a paper, send your check for $10 made to Treasurer General NSDAR along with a cover letter to NSDAR Headquarters, Library Record Services, 1776 D Street, NW, Washington, DC, 20006-5303. In your letter, identify yourself as an ancestor of Daniel, citing some of the information above, and provide at least three generations from Daniel toward yourself. The staff will try and match your lineage as close as they can so that the paper will be of most benefit to you. Please allow 6-8 weeks for a reply.
A second thing you can do is contact a DAR chapter local to you if you haven't already. There are women in each chapter whose job it is to help prospective members like yourself. They can tell you all about DAR and what we do. That record copy will be the base for your own application as a starting point for building your documentation packet. Or it can be the final piece of secondary proof to confirm your eligibility. If you need someone to contact you about DAR where you are, just let me know the city and state of your residence and someone will e-mail you and you take it from there.
And lastly, just continue to do your research and build your pile of documentation to prove you are lineally descended from Daniel or any other Revolutionary War Patriot. Because Daniel had a pension, there may be valuable information to help you in that pension application. The DAR ladies will know where to get that if you don't have it already.
If you'd like to know anything further, let me know.
Good luck.
Mary
