You have more complete information than we do, but then, this is just an index. What this means is that at least one woman joined DAR since our founding in 1890 using this man as her patriot ancestor.
What this also indicates is that there will be at least one application available to purchase to see what that person used as documentation and lineage. You can buy one copy of one application paper for $10. To do that, send a $10 check made to Treasurer General, NSDAR, and mail it to Library Copy Services, 1776 D Street,NW,Washington, DC, 20006-5303. Getting a copy of a paper will aid in your own application process. When you send in your money for the copy, include in your request letter at least three generations from James toward yourself. What they will do is try and match as close as possible a lineage that is the same as yours. All they need are names and dates.
If you want contact made with you by a local DAR chapter, let me know your city and state of residence and we'll see that is accomplished. There are three women in each chapter whose job it is to help prospective members like yourself complete the application process.
If you have other questions about DAR or doing an application, let me know and I will try to help you out.
Mary
