I was unable to find your ancestor, Samuel Comer in our DAR Patriot Index. There were six men named Comer: Augustine, Hugh, James, John, Michael and Thomas. None had a wife named Frances.

All this means is that no one since the founding of our organization in 1890 has used Samuel as her patriot ancestor and submitted an application. If you can prove your lineage and Samuel had Revolutionary War service or gave aid, you can be the first.

If you would like someone in your area to contact you about membership in the DAR and haven't had contact with anyone already, let me know your city and state of residence and we'll see someone gets in touch with you. There are three women in every chapter whose job it is to help prospective members like yourself. They can help you get all your documentation together to submit an application on Samuel.
