Hello. In answer to 'can I use a deed', the answer is yes. Just be sure to site the document fully with book, page, and location of record (county and state)
In answer to the second question about finding how many women have used an ancestor to join DAR, a call to our Registrar General's office should be able to answer that. Call 202-628-1776 and ask for that office. If that info is in another office, they will transfer your call to where your questions can best be answered.
