There is a book out called Virginia Publick Claims. It lists the men and women who provided public service (PS) for the war effort.

Since someone has established membership in the NSDAR through him, you may obtain a copy of the DAR application by sending a check for $10.00 payable to Treasurer General NSDAR. Provide the patriot information and if you know the child of the Patriot through whom descent is claimed, provide that also. Mail the check along with the information to:

Registrar General NSDAR
Administration Building
1776 D Street NW
Washington, DC 20006-5303.

Requests for record copies may take six to eight weeks as they are very busy.
