For the first two queries doesnt mean they didnt fight, it means that no one has joined the NSDAR Membership using their lineage. You mentioned Hoskins died 1840. Check the 1840 Census and see if he mentions that he fought in the Revolutionary War. It would be on the second half page of the census.
For the last two queries, since someone has established membership in the NSDAR through him, you may obtain a copy of the DAR application by sending a check for $10.00 payable to Treasurer General NSDAR. Provide the patriot information and if you know the child of the Patriot through whom descent is claimed, provide that also. Mail the check along with the information to:
Record Copy Department
Registrar General NSDAR
Administration Building
1776 D Street NW
Washington, DC 20006-5303.
Requests for record copies may take six to eight weeks as they are very busy.
If you are interested in DAR membership, each chapter has members who will assist you in connecting to your Revolutionary Patriot. If you would like more information about joining DAR or finding a chapter in your area, please let me know.
Hope this helps and if we can help you again, please feel free to contact us.
Warmly,
Sara
