Hello Nancy;
I looked in the NSDAR Patriot index and did locate Elijah Williams. Since he died cira 1790, he would have not recieved a pension and in looking at your message he recieved a reciept for bounty coat (?) on Nov 9 1775.

WILLIAMS, ELIJAH
Ancestor #: A126046
Service: MASSACHUSETTS Rank: PRIVATE

Birth: 2-14-1740 MANSFIELD MASSACHUSETTS
Death: (POST) 1790
Service Description: 1) CAPTS WHITE,KNAP,COLS DAGGET,READ

If you would like a copy of the application with the Patriot's information, you may request a copy from DAR National Headquarters. Please make a check in the amount of $10.00 ( one request per envelope) payable to the Treasurer General, NSDAR. Mail the check along with your patriot's information to:

Library Copy Services, DAR, 1776 D Street NW, Washington, DC 20006-5303.

The record copies for Elijah Williams are in the 200,000s. Meaning the ladies who joined around the 1940s or so. I cant tell from the index. The index does not say who his parents were.

If any female member of your family is interested in DAR membership, please let us know.
Best of luck with your research. Sara

This is a free lookup service provided by DAR volunteers at the DAR message board.
