Elisha GALLUP of Connecticut (and Vermont, but I believe his service was in CT)

married to Mercy Denison
child: Esther GALLUP

Mercy born 1752-Stonington New London, CT
Joseph born 1760 in Stonington New London, CT

This does not mean that he did not have a child named Ester(Esther) as you mentioned, it only means that a lady has not proven through that child for DAR membership.
I'll go back to the Index and if things work like they are supposed to, I'll send you a copy of an application of someone who joined DAR through the other child, Joseph.
