I am a direct descendant of (Johan) Jacob Wolf born circa 1739, who married Margaret Hoak (probably 2nd wife) and signed a will 18 Oct 1804 which was "proved" 26 Oct 1811 (in other words he actually died between those dates which explains the use of 2 alternate "death dates" for this man). He owned property in Middleton Twp, Cumberland Co, PA in 1771 and we believe he may have been in the Pennsylvania Militia. Our proof includes land records, notarized copies and translations of his will which list all his children(also entered in Will Book H), baptismal records and family bible records both in German and translated, census records and birth and marriage records. My late father had noted an entry from page 229 of Vol 1979 of "DAR New Ancestor List" which might match a zerox in his file which reads "(Wolf), Jacob: b c 1740 d p 10-18-1804 m Margaret (Hoak) Pvt Mil PA" It appears there may have already been succesful DAR aplication(s) for this individual. Could you confirm and lead us to the next step in this process please?
