Dear Ms. Thompson,

Thank you for your inquiry. On a DAR application, proff is requested for all dates, places, and relationships. For proof send the best source available; such as birth, death, or marriage certificates, Bible records (with the title page and date of publication), wills, probate records, deeds, census, diaries, old letters, well-documented family histories or county histories, etc. In general, primary documentation is requested.

In light of that, census records printed from Ancestry.com are acceptable; cemetery listings on USGenWeb are not. However, cemetery records, burial records, pictures of tombstones are acceptable.

I hope this helps answer your questions. If you need further information, please let us know.

Sincerely,
CNelson

This is a free lookup service by DAR VIS volunteers.
