I have one missing generation in each of my Revolutionary War ancestor lines . Bemjamin Franklin Knowlton b. June 10, 1728 at Ipswich, MA and 3 of his sons Benjamin, John and Henry served in the Revolution from New Ipswich, Hillsborough,NH. I descend
Benjamin's son Henry Knowlton b April 16, 1756 and Sibbel (Libbie) Wright b. February 13, 1759.
Their son Henry Knowlton Jr. b. 1778 is my missing link.
Henry Knowlton b. September 20, 1778 New Ipswich, NH . Family Bible lists his wife as
Rebecca Southwick. b. abt. 1781 m. abt. 1809, based on childrens birth years in bilble.
Henry and Rebecca's children were Eliza, Charles A. b. Aug. 14, 1810, Hannah b.1811, Leander W. Knowlton b. July 7, 1814, Caroline b. Aug. 18, 1817, Henry b. May 24,
1819, Clark b. 1821, Harriet b. 1823, Ruth b. 1825, and another Eliza b. 1827.
Leander W. Knowlton b.1814 is my gggrandfather. Several members of Henry and Rebecca's family lived in nearby
towns to Victory, Cayuga Co., NY. Some migrated to Michigan. Leander Knowlton and his second wife Maryette Vought (my 2nd great grandparents) (Maryette also descends from Revolutionary War ancestors) m. 1844 in NY and before 1848 migrated from Victory, NY to Indiana, Wisconsin and then Michigan. I have found no trace of Henry and Rebecca Southwick Knowlton. Stocking's book has Henry's death
listed as 1838 in New Ipswich, NH. I do not think that is correct. Have nothing for Rebecca Southwick. I have written letters to NH and searched unsuccessfully. Leander
was living in Kalamazoo, MI for the 1880 Census and POB for his mother Rebecca was listed as CT.
