1) Put more information on your subject line. The only reason I read you message is I had some time to kill. You should try to phrase the subject so that a reader can tell if they can be helpful without reading the body.
2) Usually, persons need to check out their own family legends. Usually, much of the details are wrong while the general contend of legends is often correct.
3) A dissagrement in charts means someone is wrong. We often need to make educated guesses to fill in the blanks. The fact that guesses were made could indicate the lack of strong evidance. To assume 17th century records are complete and accurate is pure folly. The art and fun of genealogy is solving a puzzle with pieces missing.
4) Except for #3 your queries are extreamly trivial. Wood is a very common name and Everett is common enough to have over a thousand in the country by 1800.
5)Posting this query in Black Sheep is a very obscure place to post your query. You need to post these queries on the correct surname forums. You did use the surname field but you should know that the forums exist when you use that. I do not ever remember seeing the hyphonated surnames. If your spelling does not exactly match a forumn using that field is a waste of time.
You could also post on a witch forum. I am sure there is one of those.
Unless you are extreamly lucky and locate a close relitive that has 'done it all', genealogy is a great deal of work. People research their own families unless they are paid. The further back in time you go the better the chances are to find a researched line.
Except for #3 each question could take at least 5 years to answer. It took me 25 years to figure out my family legend. It is unlikely you will ever get solid information about an itenerant Fred Woods. They were rairly included on any census or other pubic record. Even is he did become respectable later it would be impossible for you to match him up unless you could do a Y DNA match on a line of his sons.
