I would like to build up a picture of what life would have been like for a young English couple arriving, with 2 young children, in Maitland. They came on the Rattler and had a further 2 children in Maitland. Home? Work? Transport? All the basic things we take for granted.

Any info about what was there in the early 1850's would be great,
