Sorry to say there doesn't seem to be any reference to William Whyburn Blackmore in our side of the Whyburn clan. We came from Sussex - GGGGrandfather - Alfred Whyburn b 1821 Ore, Sussex, d 1893 Bishop's Bridge, NSW.

I now have a full family history if this may help.

Hi Chris,

I was amazed to find your posting for Clara Ramage, nee Whyburn dau of Alfred & Alice Whyburn, nee Brown and then David & Lucy Whyburn, nee Wheatley.

I am descended from Charles Wheatley brother of Lucy and would love to exchange info with you.

I am living in Charlestown NSW afer spending the past 20 years at Blackheath NSW. Since returning to Newcastle I have met up with another cousin who is descended from Edith Maria Wheatley and we are trying to piece together as much of the family tree as possible to date.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards

Victor Moymow

Hi Victor,

Long time since we communicated. Did you get in contact with Pat Ralston about my Whyburn family? Let me know if you have any more information.

I have been busy with dealing with family history on maternal side and getting sidetracked trying to prove / disprove a long family rumour regarding a famous Australian bushranger being a direct relative.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Margrete,

Good to see the posting is still active.

I have Annie Whyburn,b 1875, daughter of David Whyburn and Lucy Whyburn (nee Wheatley). She was the sister to my great-grandfather, Alfred Whyburn.

Which area did your Annie come from? My Whyburn family was in the Hunter Valley -Maitland, Cessnock and Aberdene.

Dear Chris,thankyou for your reply.
My Annie was from the Bishops Ridge,Hunter Valley.
My line is with the Crouch Family,so I don't have any other info on her except that she was married to;

ROBERT PERCIVAL CROUCH & She was born in 1875.
I do have the names of their children though.

Hope this is the same person.

Margrete,

Yes it may be Annie, my greatgrandfathers sister.

The Whyburns lived at Bishops Bridge, their occupation was timber workers - splitters.

Do you have her father as David Whyburn and mother as Lucy (nee Wheatley)? They did come from Bishops Bridge, which is on the Old Maitland Road, between Cessnock and Maitland. There is an old cemetery there that has the graves of Annie's grandparents, parents of Lucy Wheatley.
