Re: Whyburn family History - Bishops Bridge
Dear Chris, unfortunatly I only have Annie's name, nothing at all on her parents. I was given my Gedcom file,so I didn't do the brunt of the researching. I see you put down an old cemetry in Maitland, would that be Oakhampton Cemetry on Old Oakhampton Rd Maitland. The reason for me asking is that my hubby & I went & found the cemetry last yr as it has a few Crouch's & affiliated families buried there as well. The lady that gave me the Gedcom file had been there about 1999 & said it was very run down, and she wasn't wrong,it was terrible, all overgrown and neglected. But after the floods in the Newcastle area last yr it would be a wonder if any of it was laft at all. If this is not the cemetry, could you please advise where it is and will go & have a look in the nxt week or two. I hope this helps and if you would like to know anything else please don't hesitate to ask.
Margrette.

The cemetery I mentioned is on Old Maitland Road at Bishops Bridge. It is a bit run down and is not an active burial site, very old graves are here.

Re: Whyburn family History - Bishops Bridge
David Whyburn/Whyborn married Lucy Wheatley on 14/5/1873. I have an interest in the Wheatley family as I am writing the history for Keinbah, Sawyers Gully and Lovedale near Bishops Bridge. I have a reasonable amount of information on the Wheatleys should anyone be interested in an exchange.

Re: Whyburn family History - Bishops Bridge
Hello I read that you are writing a book on Sawyers Gully and Bishops Bridge we would be interested in your book as my husbands family came from there. There name as Bowen and they lived original at Bishops Bridge and then moved up to what was the old post office I think in Sawyers Gully. Cheers Annette

Re: Whyburn family History - Bishops Bridge
Yes, he moved to the house on a triangular block at the corner of the intersection of Sawyers Gully Rd and Old Maitland Rd. The house has since burnt down and been replaced. The block has been subdivided into two. The original post office was a wine shop on Old Maitland Rd (since burnt down), then the Farrell's residence for about 50 years, then two other houses for shorter periods, one being where Mr Bowen lived.

Re: Whyburn family History - Bishops Bridge
Hi John I'm looking for any information about John Wheatley, married to Mary with daughter Mary Ann b 1844 and son Samuel b 1850. I know Mary Ann was born in Maitland and John was working as a labourer at the property 'Corinda' at the time of Mary Ann's birth. Do you have any record of them in your Wheatley history?
Thanks for anything you may have Steve Walsh

Re: Whyburn family History - Bishops Bridge
Hi John,
David Whyburn and Lucy Whyburn (nee Wheatley) were my Great-great grandparents. Are they included in your book.
I have no info on them at all, only the little bits and pieces I have found when trying to do some research. My family did not talk of the Wheatleys at all. Would love to see you book when it is finished.
