Re: Cemetery in Marianna, AR
Yes, I did get your email. And yes, it made sense. When I was reading about all the planning that would be necessary to have a Youth Explosion, it sounded like a lot of work and a lot of people would have to be involved. Honestly, I just don't know if that many people would be willing to get involved. But, it does sound like a great experience for the young people.
Thank you for your prayers. God is good!!!

Re: Cemetery in Marianna, AR
Actually, it's a peace a cake. I guess because I have been doing it so long and I know how it works. It's just a matter of having a contact person that's willing to get information to us from the area. We do all the legwork such as; sponsorship letters, fliers, cards, establishing the set-up, putting everything in the proper place, etc.... We would prefer a church to host it because the funds would go directly to that particular church. The event always opens doors & extend opportunities for that particular church. I truly thank you for your time as to hearing the purpose and supporting the need through prayer, which is always needed. I will continue to pursue as Noah did, as to building the Ark. Had he stopped there wouldn't be a new world and if Jesus had not laid down His life for us, we would not have grace. I've learned in this walk when God gives you a task to carry out, He never gives you the in-between; He always gives you the beginning and the end. Isn't that ironic? He is an Awesome God!!! Therfore, I must continue to walk by faith and not by sight and He will do the rest. You be encouraged and continue to seek God for your healing. Please read: The 53rd Chapter of Isaiah on a daily basis. It says, "with His stripes we are healed." That lets me know that it's already done and we should thank Him in advance. I will definitely keep you informed as to when God opens that door. I know it's ordained & anointed by Him and He is the only one that can bring it to past because, "It's All About The Children."
Again, thank you for your reply....
I will continue to keep you in my prayers daily...
Yours in Christ, JoAnne Smith-Hooks

Thank you so much. If I was younger I'd volunteer to help you with this. We'll both just pray that someway, somehow, if it's the Lord's will, that it happen.

Re: Cemetery in Marianna, AR
Do you know if the AAHGS is active? I have a query on the site, but no one has responded. I have old minutes of the First Baptist Church (1848) and there are slaves noted that were members of the church. It was called Liberty Baptist church back then. My question was about how to trace these slaves. They are listed such as "Silvy, slave of Mrs. Jones" baptised or joined, etc. I was wondering how you trace them without a last name. Did the slaves usually take the name of their owner? I would like to share this info with whomever might be doing research for Phillips and/or Lee County.

Re: Cemetery in Marianna, AR
Please give Dr. C. W. Campbell a call. I know this is God because I just received a phone call from him earlier giving me an update on what was happening regarding the Walnut Grove Cemetery. I am sure he would be more than glad to help you. Here's his cell number: 901-569-5494 and home number is: 870-559-2060. Please let me know the outcome because this is truly interested?
It's good to hear from you and remember, we are constantly praying for you. I pray that God is allowing you to feel the effects of the Saints prayers and healing has already begun to manifest.
God bless you and take care...
