I'am a richards from Montgomery, Alabama and my ancestry are from Lowdnes Co., Alabama. My grandfater is John Richards who was married to Carrie Smith Richards. He was the son of Ben Richards who married Lushie Arbee Richards.
Ben's parents were Ennit & Ella Richards. May be you can help me and I can help me.

There was Terah and I think now he came into Pike County, His brother George Richards, Jr. came to Carroll County, Ga. and Thomas Cupples, my ancestor, and his brother Stephen went to North Florida from Greene County, Ga. but before that they were in Franklin County, N.C. --Lots of John Richards out there, I know there was a whole NOTHER set of Richards that came into Henry and Barbour County, Alabama......Put out questionaires in all these counties and see if you can make contact with someone that knows your folks....I was born and raised in North Florida and my Richards went in there before it was a state......Lots of Richards! Joan

Wow! You are related to my grandmother. I have a family book of the Arbee's family history. Lushie Arbee is in the book (along with her husband and kids). My grandmother is Geraldine Williams Stoudemire. Her mother was Willie Ann Davis Williams and father was Tommie Williams. Wille Ann's "Sis A" mother was Comfort Arbee. Comfort married Dan Love, then Dan Davis, then James Clements. Comfort's children were Willie Ann Davis, Henry Todd, Vila Clements, Hattie Clements, Jim Arbee, and Robert Arbee. Also, my grandmother's cousin, Ben? Richards, married one of my grandfather's (my grandmother's ex-husband) sister (Clara Mae Stoudemire Richards). Hopefully we can exchange more info. The Arbee's lived in Lowndes and Autauga Counties. My grandmother was born in Autauga County but her mom was born in Lowndes County. Someone from that family just passed some time last year and my grandmother said alot of that side of the family was there for the furneral in Lowndes County.
