Hello, my name is Kip Culberson, from Fort Worth, TX. I am SO GLAD to FINALLY see ANYTHING online with the name "Marsh-Marley Music Co." in the posts. The reason for this, is that just a couple of weeks ago, I went to an estate sale that was located in a neighborhood around the historic district of downtown ftw....always love those sales in that area due to amazing finds, sometimes!! In this particular estate sale, the gentlemanthat passed on was a rare drum collector. He actually had an authentic, with markings, Civil War marching drum, which sold for around $1000+. In the backyard, I found a few vintage/antique snare drums & accesories that i quickly bought without even looking at it thoroughly, due to the low cost. When i got home, i realized that i had 3 complete, working snare drums...with all original hardware!! 2 were big names id heard of, but the most unique one of them all has only one identifying black, oval-shaped label on the inner shell that says: "MARSH-MARLEY MUSIC CO. DALLAS, TEXAS", in the middle of label...and around the top of the same label in smaller lettering, it says, "MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, SUPPLIES, ETC."...and around bottom of label, "ARTISTIC REPAIRING and PLATING." I know this thread is about violins/fiddles, but can ANYONE help me find out some info about this drum?? anything would be appreciated. u can reply to my email if ud like, as well at
kculberson21@yahoo.com. thx!!
