I could only read the first page of your list. I am looking for any information on a Michael Young from Wisconsin who supposedly went to Kansas and was a marshall or sheriff post civil war. He was discharged as a Quarter Master Seargent from the a Wisconsin aritllery unit.

Hi Dennis... im looking for a Thomas Jefferson Basnett who we believe was a US Marshall in Kansas and was involved ina gunfight of sorts.. may have done time at Fort Leavenworth. 1904-1909. Any info is GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you but I have no need for info at this time. I can not speak for them but have you thought of doing a paper on him for the Kansas Hiatorical Society for there Quarterly. I would think they would be happy to get it there is not much info on him after he left Kansas.

Do you have any info on Frederick Gottlieb Wannenwetsch of Caldwell and Coffeyville KS? He is listed as 'martial-city' of Caldwell on the 1900 Census with his 1st wife Elizabet[Derwin]being married for 11 years in 1889 in Caldwell. He may have been in Caldwell as early as 1883-6 at the end of the Chisholm Trail cattle drives - he left his Baltimore MD family after 1880 Census - was a cowboy in TX prior to settling in Caldwell - still being listed there in the KS Census of 1905 with his 2nd wife Nevada[Giles] - then moving to Coffeyville where he was Chief of Police under several mayors according to his obituary. I would like to find a specific date in Caldwell.
