i am new to this web site and found it accidently. my grandfather worked for the milwaukee road for 52 years his second time around. he was forced to retire at the young age of 70 in 1960 and lived to 102 years with fine health until the last few months. i have his lifetime pass and a few other momentos. he worked with mr. harley and mr davidson at the time they built the first motorcycle at the shops. i guess thats why the call the harley's "road iron". i worked at the milwaukee shops from 1970 to about 1975. my uncle was the union business rep for the machinists union. at one time there were 21 of my relatives working for the milaukee road. it was nice to find this site and will check it again soon. hope i have not bored anyone too much. happy holidays to all.
