Looking for info about any of these surnames who were workers for the railroads in WISCONSIN and Illinois. My g-uncle, Mike Fitzgerald born Irl a1856 Eau Claire1880 census was killed [family said blown up] in a railroad accident. I think that in 1880 his wife had just died since his sister-in-law was caring for his children at his home in Ellsworth, Wisc. His brother Pat b1859 disappeared after the Eau Claire 1880 census. The railroad evidently had transferred him elsewhere. The other surnames in subjects, married the Fitzgerald girls and went????. Uncle Jack & Miles Fitz... went to Chicago, my grandfather, John Fitz... b1878 wisc, the engineer of the 400 of the C&NW Ry, moved to Mpls with his wife, Ivah, and children, Lamoid, Geraldine, and Marjorie who married Leo McConnell. Although, my g-grandparents [Thomas b1830 Irl & Mary b1835 Irl] were on the Eau Claire 1880 census, I can't locate them after that. All the names in 'subject' were life-long railroaders except Lamoid Fitzgerald. Any Information you have would be greatly appreciated .

To correct my previous listing. Michael fitzgerald b9-29-1855 in Ireland died 7-17-1925 of valvular heart disease. His first wife, Catherina Lambert Fitzgerald born 3-27-1855 in La Valle, Sauk, died 7-12-1896 in Ellsworth, Pierce, Wisconsin. Michael married again in 1925 in Spokane Washington to Mamie Knee. Michael's parents, Thomas b1830/d1907 and Mary Griffin Fitzgerald b1-04-1835/d3-26-1885 [Ballyheigue] were born in County Kerry and died in Eau Claire. It was my great uncle, PATRICK Fitzgerald b1856 in Wisconsin that died in the RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Pat worked for the C&NW Railroad at the time of his death. Please contact me at Fitzgeraldacf@yahoo.com if you can shed any light about this family, in particular about my great uncle Patrick. Thank you.
