Re: KING - PITTS seafarers of Lockhartville, NS
Hello- In the CD "Ships and Seafarers of Atlantic Canada" I found the following: Under the Masters list: KING, George, born Windsor, Hant's Co., Nova Scotia. He joined the vessel "Aura", official no. 048465, on 20 Sep 1867. This was Voyage no. W048465001, and he was master again on Voyage no. W048465002. If this is your ancestor, I might have a little more information on the voyage, but nothing else on Capt. King.
I found no listing for Robert KING, as a Master.
In the Crew list: Many John KING listings, so would have to have a place of birth to do more searching. There is one John F. PITTS born in "Nova Scotia", age 20 in 1873, aboard the vessel "Ranger", official no. 057116, voyage no. Y867026. There is a little more miscellaneous info. about this seaman, should he be your ancestor.
In the "foreign" Crew list there are a number of George KING-s, only one of which was born in Yarmouth, Yarmouth Co., NS, age 20 in 1878, aboard an un-named vessel, with an official no. of 078556, voyage no. E078556004 and voyage no. E078556005. No listing for Robert KING. No listings for John KING born in Nova Scotia. No listings for John PITTS born in Nova Scotia.
In the "foreign" Masters list: No listings for John KING born in Nova Scotia. No listings for George KING. No listings for Robert KING. No listings for John PITTS.
Sorry this wasn't much help, but remember, this is NOT a full listing of all ships and seafarers, merely one CD.
