Surnames: Smalle, Parry, Tobin
Info on shipowner Thomas Smalle, Mariner/Merchant :
------In 1826, owned 21 shares in schooner " MARY CATHERINE", built at Digby in 1822. Other owners were -- Thomas Tobin, Mariner, of Digby - 22 shares; George Tobin, Mariner, of Digby -- 21 shares.
------In 1830, owned 32 shares ( one-half) in schooner, " MARY", built 1824, at St. Mary's Bay. Other owner was -- John Parry, Mariner, of Digby - 32 shares.
------In 1830, owned 32 shares in schooner, " CHARLES ", built 1830, at Digby. John Parry, of Digby, also owned 32 shares.
-----In 1837, owned 64 shares (all) of schooner "ANN ", built 1837, at Digby. ( 22 tons)
-----In 1841, owned 64 shares of schooner " ANN ", built 1836, at Weymouth, Digby County.( 30 tons)
That is all that I could find on Thomas, and didn't find Daniel Smalle listed ( that doesn't mean he wasn't a Mariner, just that the records are missing). Information from the CD "Ships and Seafarers of Atlantic Canada" (Memorial University of NFLD.).
Cheers,
John
