Due to extensive changes in building practices, I determined years ago, that 1866, is a viable stopping point. However, I am always delighted to add data of the type you just provided. In cases where I have found slaves having provided work, I do list them and skills they provided. There were large numbers of freedmon in the region who also contributed significantly.I plan to make a trip to the Avery Institute in Charleston, to further my research on former slave artisans. Do you have other information to share? I would like to have birth and death dates, etc.
I look forward to hearing from you, soon!
Respectfully,
Wade Fairey
