I would be very very grateful for any information regarding my great, great Grandfather who emigrated to Pennsylvania at the turn of the century (I believe), named Karoly Bartlai. His daughter, Julia Izso and husband Sandor Izso also travelled to Pennsylvania and gave birth to my Grandmother (approx 1908), Piroska Izso in the Star Junction area. My Grandmother's father, Sandor Izso, definitely worked in the mines and was buried for sometime during a mining accident though he did survive!
Any information would be fantastic.
Thank you,

Hi Gino, Anton Kerekes and wife Clara Kerekes came to USA turn of the century. Their son John Kerekes married Kathlene Doniere (Ianiere). John was born in 1908 and Kathlene in 1912. She was the daughter of Joseph Doniere and Margaretta D'Alassandro. Their are also Izzo, (Izzi),Yannacone, and Carovillano connections. Does any of this sound familiar? Would you please respond with the names of your parents/grandparents which would help so many others out there searching these names? I should mention the primary locations are Toledo, Ohio, Plainfield, New Jersey, Hungary and W. Virginia. Also Torrella Del Sannino, Italy, Campobasso. Thanks

Hello there, thanks for the message.
Sorry for not replying earlier but I have just returned home from holiday. Unfortunately I don't know a great deal about the 'Kerekes' side of my fathers family but I can find more out when he returns from holiday. It's strange really, I've actually been to Italy with my family and also my parents, to my mothers birth village, Montefalcione which is near Avellino. We had some guests stop with us also from the UK. The guests were very old friends of my parents who moved to the UK in the mid fifties around the same time as my parents. Their surname is Iannacone! Alfredo Iannacone originated from Avellino itself.
They live only about 4 miles away from me so if you like I can find out more information. I know he has relations in Canada but not sure what side of his family they are from.
Hope this helps, my dad comes home on Saturday so I'll ask him some questions too!
All the best,
Gino.
ps, where are you situated?

Hi Gino, thanks for the quick response. I,m near San Antonio and raised the four Kerekes grandchildren of my deceased son Tony Kerekes. I have two still at home and the research is for them. I want them to know their heritage and ancestry, which is Italian and Hungarian. Have you seen the Doniere, Ianiere, Iannacone, Yannacone, Carovillano, D'Alessandro, Kerekes sites? If any of these names belong to your family there is a wealth of info there . You may respond to Esther Farris @ Hot Mail .com if you have any questions are answers in the future. Thanks again.
