Dear Mr. McGowan,
I am doing research on my mother's family. My maternal grandfather was James Conway who worked at Midvale Steel in Nicetown. I found a photo of him with a group of his co-workers. There is a sign in the back that reads "Wissahickon Tool Works Inc., 27 Working Days, May 3rd - June 6th From Date of Power to 1st Set of Recoils." The date of 6/6/41 was printed at the bottom so the photo may have been taken upon completion of a goal the workers had attained. Let me know of your interest.

Good morning Susan,

Yes, by all means, if possible please forward the photo. Both my great-grandfather, Michael Devine, his son Thomas Devine, and my grandfather Edward McGowan worked at Midvale.

FX - How did your quest for info on Midvale Steel employees go? My GGF Alfred E Maskrey worked there until his untimely death at the age of 24 in 1937. I have a set of bookends that according to family lore are among the earliest of stainless steel castings. I know Midvale specialized in experimental & cutting edge metallurgical technology - E Maskrey
