Re: Detective Ignatius J. KANE (safe & Loft Squad) 1925-1937
Thanks for responding. Good luck in your research. I'm sure he knew my father Tim Clune and Fred Itchner. The Safe and Loft squad was small and elite. I have some pictures of my dad with fred itchner and several unidentified cops. I assume they are from the safe and loft squad but I'm not sure. Do you have a photo of Ignatius on ancestry. I'll see if it matches anyone in my photos. If so I'll send it to you. Just direct me to where I can see your ancesters photo. Good luck Pat

Re: Detective Ignatius J. KANE (safe & Loft Squad) 1925-1937
By any chance was your ggfather also named Ignatius Kane and did he marry the sister of his first wife after she died? Finally did he come from Co Derry in Ireland? If so I may be able to fill you in on the Irish connection a bit as I have researched his wives families back here if it is him.

Re: Detective Ignatius J. KANE (safe & Loft Squad) 1925-1937
Thanks for your inquiry but I was looking to connect with the families of officers who served on the NYPD safe and Loft Squad in the 1920s and early 30s because my dad--Timothy Alexander Clune was on that squad at that time. Perhaps Ignatius Kane and he worked together. But I don't recall that name. I do know Freddy Itschner was on that squad with my dad. Good luck in your effoirts to find out if Officer Kane is the person you are looking for. Pat O'Hanlon

Re: Detective Ignatius J. KANE (safe & Loft Squad) 1925-1937
Hi Sleilha,
I have information on an Ignatius Kane who came from Ireland, this man had married twice, his first wife died young and he then married her sister, both sisters also came from Ireland.
If any of this ring a bell with you don't hesitate to contact me. He may well be an gg or gfather/uncle of your relation.

My grandfather, James Hayden also served on the Safe and Loft Squad during that timeframe. Does anyone have info about him?
