Surnames: Monaghan, Monahan
Seeking information on Anthony Monaghan & son John E. Monahan. Father & son were both NYPD patrolmen. Anthony Monaghan was quite a character and was written about in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle on several occasions. He lived on Bergen Street, Franklin Ave. & finally E. 40th St. in Brooklyn. He joined the NYPD in 1889 and was a member of the Police Veterans Assn. & Holy Name Society. He was with the 12th Precinct, Stagg St. & Grand Avenue Stationhouses.

Son John E. Monahan was with Traffic F in 1927, when his father died. We have no other information on him or his family.

I have little info..but my great-grandmother was Annie Monaghan Reilly and when her son, "Henry" John Reilly married Loretta Doyle, in 1911, he was living at 109A Bergen St.
Other streets where my line lived in Brooklyn were...Warren, Wyckoff, Hicks, Coles, President, 4th, Dean, to name a few.
Were your Monaghans involved in the Electrical Business?

No, I'm sorry they were not in the electrical business.
Two cops, a fireman, a telephone man and not sure about the other brother, there were two sisters as well.
