Chuck, I made an error. Carl Hemmann lived at 101 W. 58th Street. On his passport application I see that his father Carl immigrated to the U.S. in 1867 and died in 1905. Possibly he is the son of the man you are researching. But it brings up another possibility--could it be the son who played in the New York Symphony and died after 1922? Since they were both musicians it is hard to differentiate. His 1922 passport was for England, France, Germany and Holland. I remember my aunt saying that he traveled to Europe for concerts.
